One goal of the online Marketplace is to make compaison-shopping for insurance easier.

Each plan in the Marketplace is required to provide a Summary of Benefits and Coverage- an easy-to-understand guide to that shows you the types of care, treatments and services that are covered in plans, as well as how much the insurance company will pay for different treatments in different situations.

It must also include a glossary of health & insurance terms.  You'll also see a quality rankings for local healthcare providers.

The plans that are available to you will be clearly organized by:

  • Metal level: (Bronze, silver, gold, platinum)
  • Insurance brand; (examples: Highmark, BlueCross, Aetna)
  • And type of health plan (examples: HMO, PPO, health savings account)

Tagged under family, senior, un, young
