The old me was always looking for a place to sit down and rest. I hated going places where I knew I would have to do a lot of walking. I was tired and uncomfortable in my own skin.
The turning point when I decided to make a healthy change:
I was given a Kindle Fire as a Christmas gift and found a free app for My Fitness Pal ... I signed up and have never looked back ... it's been a never ending journey ... full steam ahead and here I am 15 months later and 56 pounds lighter.
The secrets to my success:
The day that I discovered MyFitnessPal.com and started counting my calories I had a eureka moment when I knew I had finally found something that I could do and it was totally free.
Then my 2nd eureka moment came a few months later when I saw Peggy Weber Bradford on the news taking about her Facebook group titled "Steps To Good Health." She said I could get healthy by walking more. I bought a pedometer and headed out the door ... the rest is history. The combination of MFP and STGH have changed my life ... I am 56 pounds lighter with only 7 more pounds to go.
The new me:
I now have much more energy.
"I hate to sit still for very long ... I want to keep going and making the #'s on my pedometer go higher and higher. I can now keep up with my grandchildren ... did I mention that I am 62 ... well I don't feel 62 and I like the way I feel."
My advice and encouragement for others:
If you believe it ... you will achieve it. If you really want it you will find a way to do it. It took me a long time to find the right thing and I highly recommend http://www.myfitnesspal.com because it really does educate you as to where you are making your mistakes and what you need to change to become a healthier you. Add in Steps To Good Health on Facebook and you will find a support group that will always be there for you and will support you through hard time and cheer you on with all of your victories.

1 pound at a time
1 step at a time
