Strite's Orchard, Harrisburg.
You’re invited to the 2013 Farm to Table Dinner on Sunday, August 18. This open-air dining experience is based around ingredients sourced directly from local farms and farmers' markets.
Diners will be seated inside the marketplace of Strites’ Orchard amidst the pastoral local orchard for a family-style feast.
Taste local food at it's freshest at this unique dining experience.
Event chair, Heather Rivas, says that knowing the process of where our food comes from –from seed to fork- and who works hard to produce our food connects us to our health.
And, this dining experience offers a unique opportunity to actually meet and interact with local farmers, food producers and artisans, like Jon Strite of Strite’s Orchard.
Strite is excited to welcome guests to his family orchard for the third Farm to Table. He enjoys helping people re-connect to their food and the fresh flavors of local produce.
And, best of all, you’ll be supporting a world with less cancer, as the proceeds of the event go to funding important research and support programs in the area.
"To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow." - Audrey Hepburn
Rivas says about the event, “It’s really about bringing the community together and, supporting the fresh local resources you have at your fingertips right here in Central PA.”
