(Harrisburg) -- A researcher at Penn State Hershey Medical Center has pleaded guilty and resigned from his job after being charged with felony forgery and theft.
Dr. Guohui Wan allegedly used a Penn State purchasing card to buy products from Amazon, including Amazon Fire TV sticks, wood-working supplies, and a pancake compressor.
Court documents say Wan initially claimed he made the purchases to help him with his research.
He reportedly spent about $2,200 on the items.
Penn State discovered the purchases during a regular internal review of purchasing card charges, and turned its finding over to State College Police.
Wan is set for arraignment at the end of the month.
He has repaid Penn State for the charges.
Penn State's student newspaper first reported on Wan's charges.
